Joelle's Spring Picks

Hey Guys,

Sorry for the wait and lack of posts, I've been trying to pull through college (you can thank the car accident for that one).

Here are my current picks for Spring 2016:

1.) Striped Shirts: A classic striped shirt is really all you need to add interest to a basic outfit. Bonus that they are flattering on everyone. If you have been keeping up with my insta you'd notice a lot of striped layering in my outfits.

2.) Denim: As with last season, denim and denim shirts are still really in for spring (as seen at Michael Kors, Chanel, Dries Van Noten, Stella M etc.) The key is to wear it in casual-cool ways. My favourite looks include denim tied around the waist, off the shoulder and on footwear. Denim is also perfect to add a little bit of Coachella to any spring / summer outfit.

3.) Slides and Lace ups: Last season's gladiator sandals are still really trendy and slides and slip ons are still the cool-girl shoe of the moment. I'm going for classic strappy black and classic gold metallic sandals. Perfectly minimalist and super comfy.

4.) Anything Metallic: I'm currently loving anything metallic at the moment. Nail polish, sunglasses, shoes, everything. Metallics are a quick way to upscale a casual outfit.

5.) Mustard: As seen at fast fashion houses like Zara and HM, mustard is still very popular for spring and summer. As it's usually pretty tough to pull off (washes most skin tones out) I would invest in a bag or accessories. If mustard looks good on you, go for it!

6.) Olive: I'm currently loving all things olive green. Bomber jackets, layering blouses, accessories. Olive looks great on everyone and adds a bit of LA cool.

7.) Big sunglasses: For those of us with sensitive eyes, good sunglasses for spring and summer are essential. Make a statement in big sunglasses, round ones (Coachella/ John Lennon vibes), metallics and aviators. You can never go wrong with a good pair of sunnies.

8.) Sneakers: Adidas is still having a big blogger trend moment and the sneaker trend seems to be sticking around (So happy about this!) If you haven't already, now's the time to jump on the comfort trend.

9.) Neutrals: Grey, tan and white can all come out to play when it gets warmer. Since norm-core and groutfits are still really trendy, it's safe to say minimalism is still ruling fashion for another season.

That's it for now, but I'll update if anything else catches my eye.
Happy shopping,

-Jöelle
